Bird Life

The White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis) is a small songbird with blue-gray upperparts and a white breast. It has a short tail and a strong bill for foraging. Commonly found in mixed woodlands, it uniquely climbs down trees headfirst. Its diet includes insects, seeds, and nuts, which are often stored for later. Active and vocal, these nuthatches add lively sounds to their habitats, appealing to birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.

This little guy and his fellows were extremely vocal and busy the other day what I was out for a walk along the river. There had to have been 4 nuthatches a long with flickers, chickadees, robins, & house finches. They were all singing up a storm!!
