Entrance to Dean Village, Bell’s Brae

The entrance to the old section of Edinburgh called Dean Village is quite an interesting cobblestone street.

This street is called Bell’s Brae and you feel very much like stepping back in time.  The old stone buildings, the cobblestone streets, it just feels like the whole place is ancient. To be fair, it is!! You almost expect to see livestock, wagons, horses and many many people busily working and going about their business.

The Dean Village was built along the River Leith, the livelihood of many people throughout the centuries.
