Many Hands Make for Easy Work
On a beautiful spring day, 3 car loads of wonderful people headed out to Claresholm, Alberta for a “Cemetery Recording Party”. The sun was shining and the bird were singing sweetly in another little prairie cemetery, while we were busily photographed every grave. There was about 3000 photos taken on Saturday.
It is amazing, that in about 2hours we were able to photograph the whole cemetery. There is approximately 3500 graves.
Claresholm is located in the southern half of the province of Alberta, along Highway #2. It was a watering stop for the steam locomotives on the CPR line and the first trains arrived in 1891. The first settlers came along in 1902 and by 1905 the Town of Claresholm was established..
I met a couple more Cemetery Gurus on “Team Cemetery”, which as always nice to put faces with names. It was a very enjoyable day which end with a really good bowl of ice cream at Roy’s Place in Claresholm.
