Common Redpolls
Ok, so for the last little while, Everyone is posting photos of Redpolls and I was so so jealous. But a couple of weeks ago, I was completely surprised that there was a couple at my birdbath. Well, I wasn’t fast enough to get photos but still excited that they came by.
Now, of course, I have been watching ever since to see if they would come back. And again, the other day, they showed up and they stuck around a little longer so I could get a few photos of them.
I am so hoping they come back again soon. They are such pretty little birds!!
Common Redpolls are small songbirds with small heads and small, pointed, seed-eating bills. The tail is short with a small notch at the tip. Common Redpolls are brown and white birds with heavily streaked sides. Look for a small red forehead patch, black feathering around a yellow bill, and two white wingbars. Males have a pale red vest on the chest and upper flanks.
