Creative Sundays

Playing with something new or at least something I haven’t played with for a very very long. I do however, think my oil pastels are old because they don’t seem to blend nicely. But I think I will give it another try and see what may happen with the next try.

Oil pastels are a vibrant, versatile medium made from pigment mixed with non-drying oil and wax. They have a creamy texture, easy to layer and blend, and produce no dust, making them cleaner than chalk pastels. Suitable for paper, canvas, and wood, they allow for detailed or bold strokes, with techniques like scumbling, sgraffito, and solvent blending. Artwork may remain soft and smudge-prone, so fixatives or glass framing help preserve it. Admired for their accessibility, immediacy, and rich color.
