Creative Sundays
My Dragonfly painting is coming along nicely and I will share the finished painting on Thursday, July 31. I thought I would share one of the first drawings and colourings, that I did to get the feeling of the colours. I used watercolour pencils and I thought once I finish up the painting, I am going to re-draw this the watercolour dragonfly on a larger watercolour paper and see how it looks. We will see if it works the way I am thinking!!
Dragonflies are fascinating insects known for their vibrant colours and agile flight. Found near water sources like ponds, lakes, and wetlands, they play an important role in the ecosystem by controlling mosquito populations and other small insects. Their large, multifaceted eyes provide excellent vision, allowing them to detect movement from all directions. Dragonflies undergo a unique life cycle, starting as aquatic larvae before emerging as winged adults. Their iridescent wings shimmer in the sunlight, making them a favourite subject for nature photographers capturing the intricate details of the natural world.
