Artist Residency
This experiment of creativity is overwhelming and exciting all at the same time. The opportunity given by both Fuse33 Makerspace and IAACC (International Avenue of Art and Culture Community) is one of the most exciting things I think I have ever attempted. I have a million ideas going through my head at the moment and I don’t even know where to start.
I have been seriously considering something to do with engraving on glass or possibly acrylic with a series of images I have taken. But with series or theme, I have yet to decided on.
I also like the idea of revamping my photography logo. I think that would be a great mini project.
Like I said I have a million ideas and I truly look forward to seeing where this goes and how it will end and all the bits and pieces on the inbetween.
The first try with the laser was fascinating and intimidating all at the same time. But I think there is some true potential. The opportunity to design and create with this huge machine intrigues me and I can’t wait to get my hands on it again.
Alexis Saulteaux ran the first Introduction to Lasers. The mini course is one of the first of two that I am able to take during this residency. I did a great job, leaving me wanting more. Alexis is a wonderful person with great talent.
Big Scary Machine . . . Ekkk!!
Over the Weekend
I have spent some time researching, to get a bit better understanding of the machine as well and getting a few ideas (like I need more ideas at the moment) of what I would like to do. Things are slowly coming together and I think I do have a project. I will need time to experiment, polish the idea and I think things are starting to come together.
Time is going to be the issue, finding it and I will admit it . . . Time is always hard to find. However, the fact that I am so close (both from home and work) to Fuse33 will make this opportunity so much easier.
