First Trip of the Year!!

Saturday, May 10th - Part 3

Thunderbird Park is a park in Victoria, British Columbia next to the Royal British Columbia Museum. The park is home to many totem poles (mostly Gitxsan, Haida, and Kwakwakaʼwakw) and other First Nation monuments. The park takes its name from the mythological Thunderbird of Indigenous North American cultures which is depicted on many totem poles.

Up a bit early, because it will soon be time to get ready to head home, it a short trip but I enjoy every minute.  I am going to find a coffee and a muffin and just wander my way over to where I catch the bus which it just by a small park.  I am going to do a little bit of photography before heading to the airport and on my way home.

I had planned to go to Thunderbird park, just a block away from where I was to catch the bus.  Well, all great plans … I had bus stop wrong and had to walk a bit farther.  Not a big deal but lefts you second guessing yourself but all turned out just fine.  Bus being $6 versus probably at least $100 by taxi, I think a few extra minutes to find a bus stop, I think I won the gamble.

I stopped to grab a coffee and to enjoy a very good morning glory muffin before heading off to do a bit morning shooting.  Walk along to parliament buildings, beautiful old historical buildings.  It’s clouded in with the promise of rain, cool and damp but it does look like another nice day either.
