Holidays Hooray!! Day 9

Saturday, September 20, 2025

Somewhat of a slow start to the day. I do wish I would of gotten up a bit earlier but sometimes this is the way it goes. I sat chit chatting a bit with everyone before it was truly time to start getting ready to leave. Packing was quick and painless, double checked everything and I think I didn’t leave anything behind. Time came to leave and we all lingered for a short time not wanting to go, this safe and creative place.

Into Inverness for the last time with Neale and I chatting away about all things from serious to silly. I like this man who I have met only 2 times before but have exchanged emails and messages. A caring person who is generous with his time, skill and wit. We grabbed a coffee & a quick bit and continued our conversation of all things important. Postponing the inevitable. It was time to be off to the bus station for me and back to Black Isle Berry Farm for Neale before his trip home to England. Another year of the Photowalk’s Scottish Retreat has come to an end.

As I write this I am on the bus back down to Edinburgh until Monday. This is a beautiful green land with trees of green and purple heather; Green Glens and tall bracken covered Mountains. Grazing Lands filled with sheep, cattle and deer. Pheasants watching the traffic go by; Jackdaws, crows and buzzards riding the wind.

As I travel this highway, I follow the train trains that I have travelled along years previous but the views are different and making for an interesting ride. I don’t think it was any quicker than the train to take the bus but fun to see some different sights. However, I miss going through the little towns and stopping at the old style victorian feeling train stations.

I was in to Edinburgh by 5pm on the dot! And a nice walk to my hotel. I dropped my luggage off, and went looking for some supper. And decided to have a night in.
