Elk Skull

In photography, the elk skull can serve as a compelling subject, drawing attention with its weathered texture and unique shapes. The contrast between the bone and its surroundings can create a striking visual narrative, evoking thoughts on life, death, and the interconnectedness of ecosystems.

While out and about with a good friend, we came across the bones and skull of what we believe was an elk. I know it makes a strange set of photos but it is interesting to see how mother nature takes her course. All the little bugs and things busily going about their business and how the bones are being moved about by other animals that have found a good meal.

I only took a few images and now wish I would of explored the spot a bit more. Hindsight is almost 20-20 isn’t. I find bones, intriguing, its a weird sense of understanding of how things will be one day. There is beautiful in it, a stark reality.
