Santa Photos ~ 2025!

I presented the idea to Kaylynn of IAACC and Ann of GFLS, back in July, when I was asked to help out with this years “Artscape 2025” event to have Santa come for a visit.

“Why don’t we do Santa Photos?” We have an awesome Santa that I know would love to do the job. So we mulled around the idea. And as the months went by things started to come together. Charles, our Santa is amazing! He has been Santa for an number of years and he plays his part beautifully.

So then came my part, how am I going to do this? What equipment do I need? How to get the images to people? Do I print? What editing should I do? Oh million of questions running through my mind!!

And as the months went on, as usually I started to second guess myself. But it couldn’t be that hard, keep it simple, remember it was free event and suppose to be fun! I started with the main thing, which was that I wanted to tether my laptop toy camera, so that the images would appear on the laptop right away. Do up some very simple edits, then do an export so I could email the image to the customer.

Now, what I did learn was this process wouldn’t work at a bigger event. It was a bit of a slow process. However, for this small event it worked just fine.

To gain the experience and to say yes I have done “Santa Photos!” I was thrilled and I had an amazing day!

I hope to do so again next year. I think maybe next I will try a small printer, just to see how that works out.

It was such a great learning experience. Life is to short to stop learning, doing and having fun!!
