Sullivan Graves
We went on an adventure yesterday!! We weren’t sure if we would find the right spot or whether it was still there or not.
In the Spring and Summer months of 1894 there was an ongoing Diphtheria outbreak in Alberta and many people young and old were affected and some died.
Out in the beautiful Alberta foothills, past Longview is where John and Barbara Sullivan settled into daily life of being an Alberta Pioneers, a long way from anywhere. But the deadly Diphtheria hit the family hard claiming the lives of 3 of their 4 children and leaving Barbara quite ill herself. And between May 3rd to 16th of 1894; Patrick, Peter and Margaret passed.
Someone still looks after the graves and it looked like a new fence was built surrounding the little cemetery.
