Midnight Tree in the Snow

Well, this little painting is all out of my head. I didn’t follow an image or an online video.  I think this is a new step in my creativity and abilities.  That learning to think outside the box which I think is very important.

The canvas was originally white and I have some “doddle” painting on it and I decided that it was time to change it.  I had painted the canvas black and then it sat for about a month before I finally decided what I was going to do.  So I started with splattering white acrylic paint across the canvas to look like it was snowing.  And then I stopped again because I couldn’t decide what was next.  And again the little painting sat for about a week until the first snow fall here in Calgary and I thought of how beautiful pine trees look in the wintertime with their branches covered in snow.

I really like working on a black canvas, it has a different feel.  I look forward to seeing what else I can come up with and share.
