Random Thoughts ~ 2025

Week 30

  • Whats This All About?

A one sentence that sums up the day? Well, maybe a few more sentences! I started this little project on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The topics are about anything from the day.

Tuesdays are one of those strange days, work is slow, a “find things to do” kind of day. But all of a sudden the is day. Excited to get home to a hot cup of coffee and to sit quietly. Supper is planned .. Stew and egg salad sandwiches. So simple, so good. I was able to find half an hour to paint … silly little gnomes, so much fun to paint.

Middle of the week … Hump day … strange name don’t you think. But it all runs down hill to the weekend. My thoughts are all consuming in regards to Scotland, am I organized, is it all in place, my checklist is just about done, a month ahead of time. I am shocked!!

Up Early … Thursday morning work routine. Some weeks 2:50am is ssooo so early and this week was one of those weeks. But it was still a very productive day. My creative juice have been over flowing … not sure if it is because I have a bit of holiday coming up or because I have some new good ideas or possibly I think, I have some interesting and good opportunities coming up. I have finished up something, I have been working on for the last two months, Alder Flats Cemetery. Yes, I know, what??? I have been updating the list and cleaning up the photos for the Alberta Family Histories Societies website. Its been an interesting cemetery to work on.

Good walk today!! Working on getting my steps up again. Its been such an off-on year for exercise and working out. But trying is better than doing nothing. Went out to Chestermere for supper, for some reason, the burgers taste better there than in the city. Sat by the lake and watch the seagulls fight and the people go by. A short drive out to Langdon corner to see the water levels in a pond that for the last few years were low, more or less dried up. I am happy to say it is quite full, both of water and birds. To end the drive, a beautiful double rainbow made an appearance.

  • Saturday, July 26

What a busy but not busy day!! I didn’t do anything really exciting … Relaxed, went for groceries, did laundry. All of those things that get ignored during a busy work week.

Made a wonderful blueberry crumble with fresh blueberries. The last few years I have bought a couple flats of blueberries, washed and froze them. They are great in the middle of winter when you can’t get or afford fresh fruit.

I am nearing the end of the “First Sixteen” photobook of “Walking 17th Ave”. I think I will do a book up for each section. Maybe interesting way to preserve this little project of mine.
