Sunday, July 27
Went to a Cyanotype workshop. I learned something new and just how simple it was to make these wonderful other worldly creations. The workshop was held at Neatfilms with the lovely Haley. I met Haley about a year or so ago. When I was looking for a better option to have my film developed as well a place to place film.
This is a type of cameraless photography and what an interesting way to be creative. And I look forward to trying it out again on the 2 blank pieces of cyanotype we were given.

Monday, July 28
Back to work today after a good weekend off. I felt a bit more human today. Work is work nothing to terribly exciting, but overactive brain was on the go and as always I find it hard to work.
My evening was rather unproductive so nothing exciting to share but tomorrow is always a new day.

Tuesday, July 29
I started to listen to a new book about the Empress of Ireland that sank in the waters of the St. Lawrence in 1914. It was a bigger disaster than the sinking of the Titanic. But I hadn’t heard of it before.
Many lives were lost. It was researched and written by Eve Lazerus, who I have been listening to her podcast for a little while now. She ahs some great historical stories as well as cold case crime stories. All Canadian. -

Wednesday, July 30
Well, Its Wednesday, what more can I say? My second last day before my mini holiday begins, I need a bit of a break, when I start dreading going to work and thinking of ways to get out of work, I know its time to get away for a few days.
I didn’t to much, but I did start to draw out the scene on to my new painting. It is a mountain scene which I think is going to look rather cool.

Busy Busy Busy Day!! Up for work rather early, a normal Thursday morning. But only 6hrs left and then I am on holidays. Today was my shift at the AFHS Library, always fun and always lovely people to work with.
I am going to be helping out with the monthly newsletter as well as some social media postings. There is a couple of new and interesting research projects that I am going to be involved with.
Last but definitely not least I have started on a new cemetery for southern Alberta. So I am working on getting all my research resources sorted out.
Pre-work for a days’ photo outing with a very good group of people. I have been looking forward to this all week!!

Friday, August 1
Friday’s Outing was a Great Success!!
While sitting and absorbing the peace of Red Rock Coulee, I wrote a little bit and I have decided to share that here.
Long Shadows
Long Shadows are starting to fall.
Distinct cows are calling, it s time to rest.
There is nothing but wind through the prairie grasses and the grasshoppers singing the day away.
Even the birds are starting to quiet for the day.
Not a car or plane can be seen or heard.
The quiet isn’t quiet but these sounds are soothing.
In this spot where I sit, there is nothing wrong in the world.
There is just open prairie for as far as the eye can see.
The sun is slowly setting, the air is fresh and clean.
There are no worries, no chores to be done, or work to be caught up on.
Just peace and harmony and the cows singing themselves to sleep. -
