Holidays Hooray!! Day 6
Wednesday, September 17th
A world wind of a day. Lovely to see Merriyn Glover, again and taken her workshop. Now, Forest Bathing, I know, I know, Really you did that!. Now the answer is yes and it is one of the best experiences I have had. To sit and list to the creek run, the birds singing, the crows calling to one another and the dogs splashing and playing in the water. All the little sounds, that you won’t hear during a busy a day.
Merryin is a lovely person with a beautiful voice to meditate too. It was such a quick morning but both years I have taken away so much. From the relaxation of forest bathing to tonnes of different ideas and thoughts of things to do.
In the afternoon, it was off to Cromarty. The wander through the small streets and up to the amazing old cemeteries. Cromarty is a seaport making its main source of income being fishing. However, Cromarty did have a dark history in the slave trade.
The name Cromarty various possible meanings in Gaelic. “Crom” meaning “Crooked” and “bati” meaning “bay” and “ard” meaning “heighting”. So either meaning “Crooked Bay” or “Bend between the height”.
Cromarty is between 700 to 750 years old and shows up is historical records in the 1200’s. It is truly a unique village, with beautiful views.
