What Greeted Me

Now that I have been home for almost a week from Scotland, I am starting to work on my photos and planning some blog posts. And just getting back to reality, which really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be but that is life isn’t. The anticipation and excitement of this year’s trip is done but the longing to go back is still there. I think that is why I have taken so many photos this year, photos of the locations; the towns, lakes, buildings, the mushrooms, the flowers and so on. It maybe a few years before I get to go back and I loved my time away and always look forward to going and exploring whether it is Scotland or any place I go.

This year I spent a couple of extra days in Inverness because I really hadn’t explore in and around Inverness and I still feel like I haven’t seen enough of it. There is interesting old places there that need a bit more of my attention. The idea of “Old” intrigues me and it pulls me in to see what a place really has to say. I would like to eventually go further north and see some of those off the beaten track places, which nowadays are really not off the beaten path, but still I would like to see them.

This year, on my first evening after a very long day of travel and after I got rid of my bags, I went for a short walk partly to loosen up the muscles from sitting all day and partly because I really needed supper!! I grabbed my camera and off I went. This was my first sight . . . A Rainbow. And well, I figured that was a good sign that my adventure will be a great one in Scotland. And it was!!
