PHOTOWALK RETREAT ~ DAY 2

MONADH MOR - THE BIG MOOR

Early Morning Walk through Monadh Mor on a cool crisp autumn morning. The light was beautiful and all the colors of the woods were popping. Monadh Mor – The Big Moor – is a remnant of the extensive bog woodland which once covered the Black Isle ridge. It's the largest area of forest bog in Scotland, and classed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

There are some many interesting spots at “The Big Moor” from mushrooms to moss to holly growing around the base of a tree.

LITTLE GARVE

What an excellent way to create film images to go for a walk along as roaring river among the trees. The walk along the Black Water River got our creative juices flowing to find great subjects to create 36 images. It was a beautiful walk an lovely way to spend an afternoon outside in the fresh air.

Little Garve Bridge
A scheduled monument stretching over the Black Water, Little Garve Bridge is a stone structure dating back to the mid-18th century. Part of a former military road, it was constructed to support the movement of the British army following the Jacobite Uprisings – though it was never properly classified as a road until the last century.
