Watercolour Fun

Well, September is here but summer isn’t quite over with yet. I always find it hard at this time of year, I am no longer in school but I always have this feel that I am suppose to be getting ready for something but what that is … I don’t know what. I also find that the beginning of September, should be the beginning of something new so this year I have decided to challenge myself by creating small watercolour paintings. No bigger than 4x6 piece of watercolours with colour themes and then try to put a bit of writing with it. Originally, I was going to create a watercolour a day but to be realistic I have decided that if I create 3 pieces a week, then I will be quite happy with myself. So we will see how this goes!

Today’s small watercolour painting of morning sunrise. I didn’t play it that way, it just materialized that way. The colours of a later summer morning slowly brightening the skies. I have a love/hate relationship this time of year. I love the softness of the cool/crispness mornings before the heat of the day starts. But I hate that the days are starting to shortten and too soon it will be dark and the seasons will change. Soon all the springtime birds will start to flock together and head to their winter homes and I will have to wait until next year to see them again. My soul goes with them every year and returns again in the spring.

Let the soft colours of this little painting fill your soul with calm and wonder about what the day ahead has to offer.
