The Flow of Time

Big Hill Springs has some history that I did realize it had. And has some great views if you are willing to do a small hike up the hill.

View of the Valley

Centuries ago, standing here, you may have heard thundering hooves of bison as they were sent barreling over the sandstone cliffs you see around you. The width of the jump, combined with the available fresh water from the spring, made this a prized hunting and camping location for Indigenous Peoples.
Humans have utilized this area for thousands of years, recognizing its beauty and opportunities. Think about your relationship with this land, and how you will share it with future generations.

Big Hill Springs is situated within the traditional territory of the Stoney Nakoda (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Wesley), Pilkani, Siksika, Kainai. Tsuut'ina, and Metis Region 3.
