Prairie Sentinels

All across the Prairies are glimpses of the past, how things use to be. A time when towns were small and Grain Elevators were big and the train went everywhere.

These beautiful old elevators still dot the prairie landscape but many are not active anymore and are slowly disappearing unless the community or some special person has decided to save them.

They called ‘em prairie giants standing tall beside the tracks
Their bins were full of barley, durum wheat or maybe flax
And on their side the names of towns like Stettler, Brooks or Taber
Irricana, Vegreville
